Preliminary Evaluation of Geopolymer Mix Design Applying the Design of Experiments Method

The use of waste materials in road construction is becoming widely spread due to economic and environmental needs. Construction demolition mining residues have been studied for a long time. However, the fine materials, mainly from mine tailing residue, still complex, as they can be used inert into mix or become reactive agent geopolymer mixes. In present paper, an experimental application basalt powder proposed geopolymerisation reaction produce artificial aggregates. order understand input output variables’ interactions design, statistical method called Design Experiments was applied. With this design approach, it possible optimize mortars. study evaluated several mixes with respect their workability, compressive strength, success rate aggregates production. Finally, model predicting strength evaluated.
